Summary

The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting, reporting, and analysis to support business decision-making and statutory compliance. The role ensures integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet, and profit and loss accounts, contributes to month-end and year-end close processes, and partners with stakeholders to provide financial insights. This position supports continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and strong financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Lead or support month-end close activities, ensuring balances are complete, accurate, and supported.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation processes.
• Support statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver balance sheet and income statement analysis and reconciliations.
• Provide financial insights, analysis, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Support inventory accounting, including valuation, obsolescence review, and costing processes.
• Partner with accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure accurate processing and reconciliation.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation, and control enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively across finance and the wider business.

Education & Work Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-5 years of related experience

Education & Work Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    Relevant experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting principles and month-end processes.
    Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial systems.
  • Progress toward or completion of a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
    Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience in inventory accounting or complex reconciliations.
    Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation, or data analytics.
