The Market Analytics Senior Manager will lead and develop the insights and analytics related to a primary patient group across product and service businesses globally.  This position serves as an insights leader critical to driving the success of the Strategy & Insights team, whose goal is to drive actionable strategy & insights for profitable growth. The position must understand the respective market (Ostomy or CC) from a Hollister and KMT perspective as the position functions at the JDS level and must have an enterprise viewpoint.


This individual will provide strategic and actionable insights to business partners, will actively collaborate and create meaningful results with other members of the Strategy & Insights team, build synergy with other cross-functional teams, and continuously partner with the global operating units to meet their needs.  Directly influences business growth and decisions through fact based analysis, critical thinking, customer insights, business knowledge, and partners with local units to drive to high impact execution. Owns Market Analytics for Ostomy/ Continence Care

  • Effectively interacts with Global Business Units, Service Unit Managing Directors, Finance, Commercial Excellence, Business Development, and cross-functional business partners to remain aligned and contributing key insights to drive value for the business
  • Delivers value-added analyses, market models, market assessments, performance metrics, research, and other information to support key planning functions including Board of Directors reports, the Operating Committee, Business Strategy Meetings and the Strategic  Plan
  • Lead analytics and insights activities on strategic and business development projects
  • Delivers value-added analytics and insights to support key planning functions including Board of Directors reports, the Operating Committee, Business Strategy Meetings and the Strategic  Plan
  • Utilizes various data analytic techniques to develop final results including impact assessments, market forecasting, opportunity modeling, action-plan, and recommendations. 
  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and drive to decisions

Report on Key Market Metrics to Drive and Enhance Operational Performance

  • Communicate key market insights on an ongoing basis through a variety of means
  • Lead development of key metrics for respective market (Ostomy or CC) for Product and Service Business aligned to the highest impact areas where value are created.  Monitor existing performance and leading indicator for future performance. 
  • Report on company market performance vs. competitors across various prioritized metrics and advise country units on how to improve performance locally; maintain accessible and dynamic dashboard of globally consistent, transparent, and relevant market metrics.
  • Build advanced and predictive analytics strategy and capability for JDS

Partners with Strategy, Finance, and Business Development to identify growth opportunities

  • Contribute insight for respective market (Ostomy or CC) to bring to Key Insights for investment, resourcing, or strategic prioritization to the “Insights P3”, led by Strategy & Insights leader.  Once an insight is approved, will lead project to execution in partnership with business partners.
  • Communicate trends and define opportunities for JDS strategic investment or actions.
  • Build and own Porters Plus analysis for top markets and globally; refresh annually for marketing plans, financial plans, and strategic plans
  • Report on competitors, key customers, and market players; identify potential opportunities/ threats
  • Utilize and support digital library tool to identify and showcase key market trends and insights.
  • Identify market trends across markets, across product and service, and incorporating qualitative insights from primary and secondary market research, customer profiles or segmentation, competitive intelligence, and scenario analysis.
  • Advance understanding of future opportunities (e.g., medical, technology, competitive) and publish findings bi-annually. 

Drive global customer satisfaction program in partnership with Sales Excellence and local units

  • Lead regular tracking of customer satisfaction across top markets
  • Build quicker and more relevant loyalty metrics for end users in product and service business
  • Partner with local units and sales excellence team to drive the insights to near term actions to improve performance in customer satifaction



  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 8-12
  • 8 or more years of overall business experience or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree relevant to the job function (e.g., MBA, Analytics)
  • Prefer at least 4 years of marketing analytics or management consulting experience
  • Medical device or healthcare experience required
  • At least 4 years’ experience managing global and/ or cross functional projects and budgets
  • Expertise in Excel analytics and proficiency with data visualization tools, including PowerBI
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. 
  • Must be able to do market research in healthcare facilities and end user residences, if needed
  • B.S. Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Economics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Analytics, Mathematics or equivalent field
  • Course-work in market research preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred


Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge

  • Highly strategic-minded thinking and collaborative
  • Strong relationship management, leadership, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to leverage data, analytics, and research to develop actionable insights & recommendations.
  • Possess ability to diagnose problems, identify solutions, build related project plans, enroll support, and drive to execution.
  • Proven track record of producing results in a matrix or global environment
  • Healthcare experience necessary; Ostomy or continence care/rectal irrigation experience highly desired.
  • Distributor experience desired.
  • Fluency in English required.  Fluency in European language helpful but not required.
  • Possess strong understanding of the broad healthcare environment and medical devices to identify and proactively address opportunities and threats and healthcare business environment (e.g., payors, distributors, clinicians, patients, reimbursement, regulations)
  • Ability to travel ~ 25% to meet with local country business teams, customers, and participate in professional conferences
