The Black Belt, Business Process Improvement Lead is responsible for identifying and executing large scale global office and shared services process improvement projects through the application of Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma principles, techniques, and tools, with a specific focus on Robotic Process Automation (RPA).  Projects will be aligned with the corporate strategic plan with a goal to improve process quality, reduce costs, and improve customer service. 


In addition to leading Black Belt projects and project teams, the Black Belt, Business Process Improvement Lead is responsible for advancing the office CI program globally by directing and mentoring Green Belts on the execution of their projects and development of their skills.  The Black Belt, Business Process Improvement Lead will share responsibility for the success and economics of the office CI program with the Director of Business Process Improvement.   



Organization and Program Leadership

Leads the organization towards continuous improvement through education and application of Continuous Improvement principles, techniques and tools.  Partners with the Director of Continuous Improvement to establish and grow the RPA Center of Excellence.  Supervises and mentors office Green Belts in the proper execution of CI projects, including the appropriate use of Lean Six Sigma tools and project management techniques.  Advances the office CI program through cross-functional communication and achievement of program financial goals.


Black Belt / RPA Project Management

Identifies and develops new project opportunities to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.  Designs and develops projects--often global in scope--with plans of action and timelines to guide each project and provide regular communication of project status showing application of RPA and Lean Six Sigma tools.  Achieves breakthrough results and eliminates root causes of waste, inefficiencies, non-conformances, and process variation.  Individual project cost savings should be in a range of $100,000 to $300,000 per year.


CI Training and Development Training 

Trains current and prospective Green Belts in Lean Six Sigma principles, problem solving tools, and procedures.  Assists with the development of continuous education training programs.  Works individually with Green Belts to assess their skills and develop training plans to increase their knowledge and effectiveness.  Advances the general CI knowledge of non-Green Belts by delivering Champion, Yellow Belt, and custom training as needed.   


Cross Functional Team Leadership 

Provides leadership for cross-functional process improvement teams in support of continuous improvement activities.  Identifies and solicits requirements from executive leadership to support continuous improvement projects.  Works with other Black Belts and project managers to ensure alignment with other global projects and most efficient utilization of technical resources.




  • 4 – 8 years business experience with demonstrated project team leadership and project management skills.  Cross-functional experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) including requirements mapping and code development.  UiPath RPA experience a plus.



  • B.S. Degree in preferably in Business, Engineering or Technology.  M.B.A. and/or advanced computer statistical applications desired


Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge

  • Black Belt certification or ability to achieve certification in 6-9 months
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) experience
  • Ability to collaborate with senior executives and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Training program development and delivery abilities
  • Excellent public speaking skills and written communication
  • Computer literacy & basic statistics, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel
