Sr. Specialist, Cloud System Engineer

Summary:

The Senior Project Engineer will serve Manufacturing Operations as primary customer. The position will liaise with Global Engineering(GE),  Quality Assurance(QA) & Supply Chain(SCM) in order to effectively carry out its responsibilities. 

This role will will focus on executing new equipment development and build projects by being main point of contact between global project teams and equipment suppliers. This role will be responsible for scheduling design reviews, holding schedule adherence meetings, executing FAT and SAT activities, and any follow-up activities with equipment supplier post-launch.

The role will be responsible for identifying new equipment suppliers and vendors locally to support Hollister in meeting it’s equipment needs globally

Responsibilities:

Technical Acumen

• Understanding of heat sealing production process tooling and technologies
• Understanding of web based equipment design and use in production environment
• Understanding of lean production principles (single unit flow, pull principles, quick change over, reliability, etc.)
• Experience working in medical device manufacturing environment
• Safety/ Risk Assessments: responsible for ensuring safety compliance for equipment based on production location’s laws and other regulatory requirements
• Knowledge/experience with medium to high volume automation equipment; pneumatics, pick and place, vision systems, and robotics
• Project Management experience for equipment development and capital budgeting; manage project goals, tasks, and schedules
• Familiarity with validation and DOE techniques, statistical analysis tools, and/or DFM principles
• Ability to use CAD systems, specifically SolidWorks, to create and analyze equipment and tooling designs
• Perform other duties as assigned by manageement

Business Acumen

• Understand accounting principles; cost of goods sold, capital and expense planning in support of project and departmental performance. 
• Familiarity with local equipment supplier capabilities is a requirement of the role
• Effectively prepare and communicate authorization for expenditure on capital equipment.

Communication

• Effectively communicate with  and influence  cross-functional associates to obtain buy-in.
• Project Planning & Tracking: responsible for reporting on project schedule to plan. Formally communicating / reporting same. Responsible for maintaining project budgetary control.
• Create written reports, white papers, and best practice documents for use throughout function and organization.

Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing environment

Education Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or other related Engineering or related discipline preferred

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

• SAP
• CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks)
• Basic PC and MS Office proficiency
• Six Sigma preferred
• Project Management
• Machine design experience
• Experience in development environment preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of DFM principles, DOE techniques and statistical analysis tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation
