As Global Innovation Marketing Manager – Ostomy, you will play a strategic, future-focused role within the Global Marketing Ostomy (GMO) team, staying closely connected to our end-users, clinicians, and markets to anticipate and shape the next wave of meaningful innovation. This role is responsible for proactively identifying emerging needs, unmet challenges, and opportunities for mid to long-term growth by maintaining deep insight into the evolving healthcare landscape.

 

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, including the Breakthrough Innovation Group (BIG), R&D, Clinical, and the GMO team to explore, shape, and refine early-stage opportunities across product, digital, and service innovation. Positioned upstream of commercialization, this role serves as a visionary guide, helping to define where our portfolio can and should go next. You’ll also work in close partnership with the Senior Global Marketing Manager, New Product Commercialization and wider GMO team, to hand off prioritized opportunities for further development and launch readiness ensuring strategic continuity across the innovation lifecycle.

 

Successful candidates will be required to work 3 days a week from one of our Hollister offices in Europe or the United States, ensuring consistent collaboration and team engagement. For the remaining days, you have the flexibility to work remotely. As such, it's essential for candidates to be based near a Hollister office within Europe/US to facilitate easy commuting. We believe this approach fosters a dynamic work environment while respecting the need for work-life balance

 

Responsibilities:

Shape the Future of Ostomy Care – Strategic Opportunity Development (in conjunction with GMD)

  • Identify and assess new opportunity areas that could enhance or complement the mid to long-term Ostomy strategy.
  • Conduct macro trend tracking and healthcare landscape analysis, including digital and service model shifts.
  • Lead early-stage opportunity mapping and concept validation through qualitative research, co-creation workshops, and VOC.
  • Provide early input into the portfolio roadmap based on emerging user needs, macro trends, and global healthcare signals.
  • Partner closely with the Breakthrough Innovation Group (BIG) to progress concept ideation, discovery, and front-end feasibility assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation, R&D, Clinical, and Business Development teams on early partnership or platform scouting.
  • Ensure alignment of front-end innovation priorities with overall business strategy by partnering with the GMD and NPC Director.

 

Planning & Executing Global Hollister Ostomy Strategy 

  • Ensure future-facing concepts support the evolution of brand positioning, segmentation, and clinical relevance.
  • Collaborate with downstream marketing to connect future opportunity areas with emerging clinical and economic drivers.
  • Inform mid to long-term strategic marketing plans with early insight into where the category may shift.
  • Deliver structured “handover packages” of qualified ideas to the New Product Commercialization team for further development.
  • Organize and co-lead innovation-focused advisory boards and expert interviews to explore unmet needs.
  • Maintain ongoing partnership with the NPC lead to ensure smooth transition of projects through the SPRING process when appropriate.

 

Finance Management/Budgets, Planning and Forecasting

  • Track and manage budget allocated to innovation exploration activities (e.g. early research, prototype testing, concept refinement).
  • Support financial sizing and opportunity assessments of early-stage innovation concepts.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management and Finance on mid to long-range opportunity mapping and future value modeling.

 

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Number of overall years necessary: 8-12
  • Strong capability in front-end innovation, opportunity assessment, and trend analysis.
  • Highly collaborative with experience working in or with cross-functional and R&D-led teams.
  • Proven success in driving early-stage idea development and concept validation.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
  • Innovation strategy training preferred

 

Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree
  • Marketing qualification preferable

 

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong insight generation skills, including VOC, ethnography, and trend analysis
  • Proven experience in early-stage innovation and concept development
  • Strategic foresight with ability to anticipate market and clinical shifts
  • Effective collaboration with R&D, Clinical, and external innovation partners
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare and medical device environment
  • Skilled in synthesizing ideas into clear opportunity narratives and business cases
  • Confident facilitator of co-creation workshops and advisory boards
  • Agile, curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity

 

Local Specifications (English and Local Language):

  • Fluent in English, written and verbal
  • Additional languages a plus
