Summary
Contribute to the profitability, continuity and growth of Hollister Incorporated by providing maintenance services to ensure reliable manufacturing operations compatible with Hollister’s Mission and Vision.
Responsibilities
• Provide leadership to the team(s) under the incumbent’s area(s) of responsibility to enable team members to reach and exceed their goals and/or expectations in an environment of continuous improvement.
• Ensure the team continues to advance in technical and business skills; and that individual team members progress in technical maintenance skills.
• Provide direct support and ownership of production breakdowns.
• Work with mechanics, purchasing, vendors and engineers for timely repair of out of service equipment/machines.
• Expedite parts and support as needed with a sense of urgency and an understanding of the financial and productivity impacts to the organization.
• Complete projects or portions as assigned. Utilize professional concepts in creative ways in working on assignments.
• Plan, organize, schedule, and report as needed, while acting on an independent basis and applying good judgement within the objective and scope provided by the Manager.
• Assist and work collaboratively with Global Engineers and Value Stream Engineers as needed.
• Prepare inputs for decision packages, AFE’s and budget submissions of projects and assignments in planning and pre-approval stages as assigned.
• Provide input to the capital budgeting process.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to maintenance, and subcontractor personnel, to ensure accurate and efficient achievement of assigned projects, including accountability for time records and efficient results versus costs.
• Support and model adherence to company policies and practices, such as Company Mission, Immutable Principles, HPM, Skill Based Pay, Safety, Quality, Financial Plans/Expense Controls, Time & Attendance, Affirmative Action and others.
• Initiate and/or manage cost reductions and process improvement projects.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities, estimate cost impact, research available solutions and implement projects.
• Collect, analyze and act on process data, to evaluate root causes and implement corrective actions, to solve short-term and long-term problems. Solve complex problems with in-depth evaluation of a variety of factors.
• Participate in safety review of new equipment to ensure compatibility with OSHA and Hollister safety standards.
• Responsible for achieving competency in all identified skill requirements outlined in associated training profile for position.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions of the Role
• Prolonged periods of sitting
• Ability to interface with a computer for long periods of time
• Frequently lift up to 20 pounds
• Frequent movement over large manufacturing floor area
• Occasional exposure to oily/dirty, dusty, hot/cold extreme temperatures and noisy environment
• Occasionally will work with high voltage systems
• Regular use of PPE: hearing, eye, head, feet, hands and general body protective clothing and gear
• Work on elevated platforms, use ladders and lifts
• Operate automotive vehicles
• Operate production and maintenance-related equipment and machinery
• Use electronic instruments, hand tools and power tools
• Public speaking requirements
• Able to work flexible start/stop times, across all shifts; multi-shift operations with the plant
Work Experience Requirements
• 5 years of relevant maintenance or engineering work experience with Associate’s Degree or combination of technical certifications.
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience working in maintenance or engineering without degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the position with 4 years of work experience.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree – Engineering, Technology or Science disciplines preferred
• CMRP, or other maintenance profession related certifications desired
• Education/Training in Basic Statistics, Reliability Statistics, and/or SPC
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge
• Leadership experience in a team based environment
• Experience with Total Productive Maintenance or Reliability Centered Maintenance, Lean Mfg. & Six Sigma
• Experience with FMEA, RCFA and other failure investigation and root cause analysis problem solving methodologies
• Knowledge of Industrial controls with the ability to develop these skills in associates preferred
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems, CMMS/EAM systems, and shop floor data acquisition
• Experience with computerized maintenance e management systems.
• Work experience in a medical device or other FDA regulated manufacturing environment desired
• Effective communication skills (both oral and written)
• Advanced skills with MS Office, specifically MS Excel
• Familiar with Predictive Maintenance Methodologies; Vibration, Thermal, Ultrasound and Oil Analysis
