Engineering Intern

Summary: 

Contribute to Hollister’s growth, profitability, and continuity by supporting the development and commercialization of new medical products, technology, and equipment.  Support project teams for new product launches and changes to existing products.  Support global manufacturing through process optimization.  Support business unit and departmental continuous improvement objectives.  

Responsibilities: 

• Apply basic knowledge under supervision, on concepts, principles and technical capabilities for projects of limited scope and complexity. 

• Support cross-functional projects for new product commercialization and changes to existing products. 

• Establish and manage commercial engineering project schedules. 

• Develop and validate manufacturing processes through laboratory test equipment. 

• Write and coordinate technical documentation, including protocols, reports, procedures, specifications, work instructions, and original data. 

• Assistance with design and testing of pilot or mockup processes for Proof of Principle work.          

• Conduct laboratory testing. 

Requirements: 

• 0-2 years overall experience  

• Technical writing and verbal communication skills 

• Familiar with SolidWorks/CAD, lean Six Sigma principles, statistical analysis tools, Design of Experiments, MS Office 

• Sophomore or Junior in college/university – currently enrolled 

• Experience with lathes, mills, CNC machines, and 3D printers is preferred 

• Fluent in English
