Summary

Lead the Global Indirect Procurement function through the development and execution of category strategies, supplier governance, sourcing initiatives, and procurement transformation activities. Manage a team of procurement professionals responsible for indirect spend categories including Travel, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Facilities, Professional Services, and Corporate Services. Partner with business leaders to deliver cost savings, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, compliance, and operational excellence while ensuring effective stewardship of company resources and alignment with enterprise objectives.

 

This position is based in Libertyville, IL with an onsite requirement of 4 days in office weekly.  Relocation assistance is not provided for this role at this time.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of procurement professionals to achieve departmental and enterprise objectives.
  • Establish performance goals, provide ongoing feedback, and support succession planning and employee development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective allocation of resources and prioritization of procurement initiatives.

Strategic Category Management

  • Develop and execute category strategies that support business objectives and financial targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, demand management, supplier consolidation, and value creation.
  • Monitor market conditions and industry trends to proactively manage risks and opportunities.
  • Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement across assigned categories.

Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management

  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and contract management activities.
  • Ensure supplier selection decisions balance cost, quality, service, risk.
  • Negotiate favorable commercial and contractual terms that protect company interests.
  • Oversee implementation and management of supplier agreements and performance mgmt.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Establish governance programs for key suppliers and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, business reviews, and KPIs.
  • Lead issue resolution, corrective actions, and supplier improvement initiatives.
  • Promote strong supplier relationships that support long-term business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business leaders to align procurement strategies with enterprise priorities.
  • Provide procurement expertise on sourcing, supplier, and commercial decisions.
  • Promote early procurement involvement in business initiatives and supplier engagements.
  • Influence stakeholders through market intelligence, analytics, and data.

Procurement Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval authorities, and contracting standards.
  • Drive adoption of preferred suppliers, approved processes, and procurement best practices.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and maintain appropriate procurement controls.
  • Monitor compliance performance and implement corrective actions when required.

Risk Management & Business Continuity

  • Identify and mitigate supplier, commercial, operational, and continuity risks.
  • Support supplier risk management and business continuity planning initiatives.
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies for critical services.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve supply assurance and organizational resilience.

Value Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver annual savings, cost avoidance, and procurement performance objectives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for procurement effectiveness.
  • Leverage analytics and procurement technologies to improve decision-making and visibility.
  • Lead initiatives that simplify, standardize, and improve procurement processes.

Education & Work Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of related experience

Education & Work Preferences

  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 10+ years in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or operations.
  • 5+ years of sourcing and supplier management experience.
  • 3+ years managing third-party or contract manufacturing relationships.
  • 5+ years leading and developing procurement or supply chain teams.
  • Experience supporting S&OP / S&OE and cross-functional supply planning processes.
  • Healthcare, medical device, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.​
