R&D Intern (2027)

Summary

We are seeking a motivated intern with a background in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will assist with materials testing, formulation work, sample preparation, and general laboratory support in a hands-on, collaborative research environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students with strong lab skills to gain valuable experience in a dynamic R&D setting.

Hollister Incorporated operates in a hybrid environment, Interns are required to come into the office in Libertyville IL a minimum of 4 days per week. Hollister does not provide relocation nor housing assistance for this opportuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Support formulation development by preparing and testing various formulations under supervisor
• Conduct materials and formulation testing using established procedures.
• Assist in method development and validation for materials analysis.
• Prepare samples and assist in prototype preparation.
• Support material characterization activities, including physical and chemical properties testing.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, data analysis, and results.
• Help maintain laboratory equipment and manage inventory.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols.
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines to ensure proper lab operations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience through coursework or academic projects.
• Strong interest in materials testing and formulation.
• Familiarity with basic lab techniques and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on applicant's educationand skills
