Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams in the development and commercialization of new products/services within the New Product and Process Development Process (NPPD). This role focuses on execution discipline—delivering specific products on time, within scope, and on budget—while ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and business outcomes. The Project Manager develops and executes integrated business cases and project plans, resolves staffing/resource needs, and overcomes product development challenges. Building strong relationships with functional heads and senior leaders is essential to secure cross-functional support and drive successful commercialization. The Project Manager fosters a high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, and results, and coaches/mentors Core Team Leaders outside the PMO.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leading Core Teams: Direct product development initiatives to ensure that products are available on schedule and align with established commercialization strategies. Oversee all aspects of core team activities, providing clear direction and support to achieve project milestones efficiently.

 

Business and Commercialization Planning: Formulate comprehensive business and commercialization plans designed to meet global deployment requirements and address market demands. Ensure that all strategies are robust and adaptable to changing market conditions to facilitate successful product launches.

 

Project Execution: Strategically plan, schedule, and oversee all project activities to achieve defined objectives and requirements. Maintain strict adherence to development and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that deliverables meet organizational expectations.

 

Budget and ROI Management: Monitor project budgets, costs, and profit targets consistently to fulfill established return on investment (ROI) goals. Manage financial aspects proactively, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective measures to maintain financial performance.

 

Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with functional leaders and senior stakeholders. Foster open communication and collaboration to support team success and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

 

Fostering a Performance Culture: Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and results orientation within project teams. Encourage team members to embrace new ideas and maintain a focus on achieving project goals efficiently and effectively.

 

Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to both team members and Core Team Leaders regarding process compliance and effective project management practices. Support professional growth and enhance overall team performance through continuous coaching.

 

Facilitating Decision Making: Guide teams through informed decision-making processes by leveraging sound judgment and thoroughly analyzing available options and their implications. Ensure that all decisions align with organizational objectives and project requirements.

 

Driving Process Improvement: Offer constructive feedback to functional departments concerning product development requirements during annual planning cycles. Collaborate on process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across teams.

 

Communication Management: Oversee comprehensive communication efforts to keep all stakeholders engaged and informed at every stage of the project. Ensure that updates, progress reports, and critical information are delivered promptly and clearly.

 

Delivering Commercialization Success: Lead product development teams to deliver successful commercialization of new products within established timelines. Manage the development and execution of integrated business cases and detailed project plans, anticipating and resolving resource needs and product development challenges effectively. Consistently achieve ROI objectives through diligent financial management and process discipline. Guide teams in strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with established processes, providing actionable feedback during annual planning and maintaining efficient communication with all stakeholders.

 

 

Work Experience Requirements:

•    Number of Overall Years Necessary: 5-8
•    At least 5-7 years of proven experience leading large, complex product development projects, ideally in the medical device field

 

 

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required. 
• Advanced degrees (MS, MBA, Engineering) preferred. 
• PMP certification preferred. 
• Knowledge of regulatory/medical device environments (e.g., 21 CFR, QSR 830, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, Risk Management) preferred.
• Up to 15% travel

Our Total Rewards package in aggregate is above market and includes competitive pay, paid time off programs, peer-to-peer recognition, health and life insurance, wellness programs and incentives, and generous retirement savings.

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $108,000 - $155,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
  • This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Corporate Bonus Plan.
