Summary:

Lead and develop the Indirect Procurement team, providing strategic direction, oversight, and support for category management, sourcing execution, supplier performance, and stakeholder engagement across all indirect spend categories (Travel, HR, Sales & Marketing, etc.). Drive cost savings, value creation, compliance, and continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems (Coupa, SAP, etc.). Serve as a key partner to Finance, HR, and other business units to align procurement strategies with enterprise goals.

 

This position is based in Libertyille, IL with an onsite requirement of 3 days in office per week at a minimum.

 

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop Category Managers and procurement staff.
  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee workload allocation and professional development.

 

Strategic Category Management

  • Develop and refresh multi-year category strategies aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Approve major sourcing initiatives, supplier consolidations, and preferred programs.
  • Ensure alignment with Indirect Procurement Policy and Approval of Expenditures.

 

Sourcing & Contracting Oversight

  • Review and approve RFx activities, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Ensure contracts meet legal, compliance, and business requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of pricing protections, service levels, and KPIs.

 

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with HR, Finance, and other key functional stakeholders.
  • Champion early involvement and guided buying practices.
  • Resolve escalated supplier issues and drive continuous improvement.

 

Value Delivery & Reporting

  • Monitor spend, commitments, and compliance to category strategies.
  • Ensure effective use of procurement systems (Coupa, SAP) and analytics tools (Power BI, Excel).
  • Set and track annual savings, cost avoidance, and compliance targets.
  • Publish executive dashboards and updates on procurement performance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve channel utilization and policy adherence.

 

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Experience with global procurement policies and compliance.

 

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 7+ years in procurement, with significant experience in indirect categories and team management.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master’s preferred

 

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in Coupa, SAP, and data analytics tools (Power BI, Excel).
  • Certifications (CPSM, MCIPS) preferred

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $101,238 - $159,089 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.​
