Summary

The Director of US Sales Ostomy provides leadership, strategic direction, and operating management for the US Ostomy sales team. The role is responsible for achieving sales, profit and market share objectives, as laid out in the Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan for the Ostomy business unit. As well as driving sales excellence, the incumbent will inspire, lead, manage, coach and drive performance with the sales team. This position is on-site in Libertyville a minimum of 3 days per week.
 

Responsibilities

Leadership of the US Ostomy Sales Team

  • Design sales objectives with the Ostomy region managers, develop the tactical elements of the sales plan and monitor achievements.
  • Analyze sales results for each region and territory and utilize insights to drive performance.
  • Manage Ostomy sales and margins in line with the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Drive Sales Excellence and develop a best-in-class sales team. Ensure collective and individual sales training (PSS), co-traveling, coaching and feedback.
  • Implement best practices for territory planning and use of SFDC.
  • Partner with Sales Operations in the development of sales incentive planning.
  • Inspire, lead, and manage the US Ostomy sales team, with a particular focus on developing talent and bench strength for future succession planning.

Development and Execution of Business Strategies

  • Partner with the General Manager, US Ostomy and Ostomy Marketing team in the preparation and presentation of the management reporting process; monthly MMR, Mid-Year Review, Annual Operating Plan and business reviews; develop and implement an integrated sales and key account strategy in collaboration with the Key Accounts Management team to meet sales targets in the Strategic Plan and Annual Plan.
  • Secure and organize the resources and support structures necessary to achieve business objectives.
  • Deliver the P&L performance for the US Ostomy BU on a consistent and reliable basis.

Enterprise Leadership

  • Participate as a key contributor and member of the US Ostomy Leadership team.
  • Liaise with the Americas’ leadership team and cross functionally with Marketing, Secure Start and Customer Services, Sales Operations and peers.
  • Provide frequent business updates (incl. sales performance review and KPI’s) to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate or lead cross functional projects e.g. CRM, Marketing, Sales, People, IT Projects.
  • Leverage key relationships in industry and the channel to optimize business performance.
     

Essential Functions

  • Ability to operate computer and utilize standard office equipment.
  • Ability to travel approx. 50% of time.

Work Experience Requirements

  • 8-12 years overall experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Progressive roles in sales, marketing and/or commercial position
  • Medical device/acute care industry experience required.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, MBA desirable, in business, marketing or related area.

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge

  • Strong business and financial acumen, with understanding of a P&L
  • Proven experience in driving, inspiring, motivating and developing a high performing sales organization
  • Proven ability to deliver on sales strategy and results, and to transform a complex sales strategy into clear messaging for a sales team to execute on
  • Agile, with ability to quickly adapt to change and lead others through it
  • Ability to build relationships with peers and cross functionally
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry and relevant industry associations

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $136,332.00 - $215,000. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.​
  • This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Corporate Bonus Plan. The Company also provides a unique Benefit of Employee Share Ownership Program (BESOP) program based on earnings and length of service. ​
