Summary
The Senior Controls Engineer provides advanced technical expertise in the design, development, implementation, and support of electrical and control systems within a highly automated and regulated manufacturing environment. The role supports production reliability, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement through commissioning, troubleshooting, project execution, and cross‑functional collaboration. This position contributes to equipment performance, process robustness, safety compliance, and the development of technical capability within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot daily equipment and controls issues, implement corrective actions, and recommend preventive measures.
- Lead and participate in machine improvement projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs and maintain associated documentation and backups.
- Execute robust test protocols and manage software change control processes.
- Mine and analyze data from automated equipment using tools such as Ignition for performance and predictive insights.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Provide technical training and mentoring to less experienced team members.
- Support out-of-hours activities when required.
Education & Work Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5-8 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Controls, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- Typically 5–8 years of relevant engineering experience in automated and/or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on experience with commissioning, debugging, and optimizing automated equipment.
- Experience working in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, or B&R.
- Experience with industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profibus, and RS‑485.
- Experience with robotics, servo motion systems, machine vision, and automation safety systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, with Ignition preferred.
- Formal project engineering or project management experience (e.g., FMEA, structured PM methodologies).

Salary
2700-4100 €/mon. gross after assessing your competencies and work experience.
