Summary
The Accountant II supports Finance operations for executing core accounting operations across accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general accounting processes. The role ensures timely and accurate financial transactions, supports month‑end close activities, and contributes to financial reporting, compliance, and process standardization within a global or shared service environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including third‑party invoices, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
- Support general accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including account reconciliations and standard reporting.
- Review supplier statements, monitor purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare, issue, and reconcile intercompany invoices and balances.
- Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies, including intercompany transactions and account variances.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports, including ad hoc analysis, and support statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain and update financial data within ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa or equivalent) and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including finance teams, business units, and auditors.
- Support and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risk.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations.
- Create, update, and maintain process documentation and accounting procedures.
- Contribute to process improvements, standardization initiatives, and system enhancements, including automation opportunities.
Education & Work Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 2-5 years of related experience
