Summary:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst SAP I, based in our Shared Service Center in Gurugram, India, will provide hands-on support for SAP financial systems globally. This role focuses on Financial Accounting, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Banking, and Taxation, along with related reporting. The analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and IT counterparts to drive the effective utilization and continuous enhancement of SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with evolving business requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Hands-on SAP Application Support:
  • Provide direct and hands-on application support in a timely manner for SAP Finance processes
  • Adjust working hours as needed to ensure overlap with the US time zone for seamless collaboration with global teams.
  1. Configuration and Enhancement:
  • Configure SAP Finance to align with business processes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of enhancements, ensuring alignment with leading practices and business needs.
  1. Business Partnering:

 

  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into standard SAP solutions and functional specifications if it involves customization by the technical development team.
  1. Testing and Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and execute test plans as needed for SAP Finance configurations, enhancements, and planned maintenance.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of SAP systems through hands-on testing and data validation.
  1. Training and Documentation:
  • Personally provide training to end-users on SAP Finance functionalities and best practices.
  • Create and maintain hands-on documentation for SAP configurations, processes, and procedures.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively identify opportunities for hands-on process improvements and system optimization.
  • Stay updated on SAP leading practices, recommending their hands-on adoption where applicable and feasible.

 

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Provide application support to ensure seamless SAP Finance operations, with flexibility for global collaboration across time zones.
  • Configure SAP Finance solutions in alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Proactively monitor and manage SAP incidents and change requests, ensuring timely resolution and system stability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear SAP roadmaps and actionable solutions.
  • Implement robust testing protocols to maintain the integrity and performance of SAP Finance functionalities.
  • Deliver hands-on training for SAP Finance users and maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and streamline financial processes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Work Experience Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of proven hands-on experience as an SAP Business Analyst specializing in Finance modules.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Finance function, providing a strong foundation in financial processes.
  • Deep understanding of Finance business processes, with the ability to navigate complex workflows and system integrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring effective issue resolution and process optimization.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse business users, including those for whom English is not the first language.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, fostering cross-functional partnerships.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree desirable.
  • SAP certification in FI & CO modules is a plus.

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • SAP Finance Configuration & Support: Extensive experience in configuring and supporting SAP Finance modules, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Taxes,and General Ledger.
  • SAP Banking Functionalities: Proficient in configuring and supporting SAP banking processes, including Electronic Bank Statement (EBS) for optimized cash management.
  • Intercompany Process Expertise: Deep knowledge of SAP intercompany processes, including transfer pricing, intercompany asset transfers, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Finance Master Data Management: Strong command of finance master data within SAP, with hands-on experience in resolving application support issues related to master data.
  • Cross-Module Integration: Proven ability to support SAP Finance interactions with other SAP modules, particularly in supply chain functions such as sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and warehouse management.
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): Experience in configuring and supporting EDI processes within SAP Finance.
  • Business Intelligence & Analytics: Proficient in business intelligence tools, including SAP BI, SAP ABAP Query, SAP Report Writer, and Power BI, for ad hoc analysis and ongoing business process monitoring.
  • Desktop Applications: Strong proficiency in Visio for process flow diagrams, as well as Excel and Access for large-scale data analysis.
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Expertise in business requirements gathering techniques, including use cases, prototyping, and questionnaires, with the ability to tailor approaches based on audience and context.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis for process enhancements of low to moderate complexity.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to assess business needs, develop viable solutions, and articulate the business and technical impact of proposed changes.
  • Effective Verbal Communication: Adept at explaining complex business processes in plain language, avoiding technical jargon while ensuring clarity for users. Skilled in active listening and paraphrasing to confirm mutual understanding.
  • Clear Written Communication: Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to document complex business processes and technical content using clear, structured business language. Proficient in leveraging visual aids such as process flows and decision tables for enhanced comprehension.
