Data Developer II

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Developer with expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics/ADF, Databricks, and strong SQL development skills. The ideal candidate will work on end-to-end data solutions supporting analytics initiatives across clinical, regulatory, and commercial domains in the Life Sciences industry. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, and relevant certifications such as DP-700 and Databricks Data Engineer Associate/Professional are preferred. Power BI knowledge is good to have to support integrated analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics/ADF, and Azure Databricks to support critical business processes.
• Develop curated datasets for clinical, regulatory, and commercial analytics using SQL and PySpark.
• Create and support dashboards and reports using Power BI (Good to have).
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work closely with ERP teams such as Salesforce.com and SAP S/4HANA to integrate and transform business-critical data into analytic-ready formats.
• Partner with Data Scientists to enable advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives by providing clean, reliable, and well-structured data.
• Use Azure DevOps to manage code repositories, track tasks, and support agile delivery processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for reliability and performance.
• Contribute to the design of scalable, compliant data models and architecture.

Key Skills and Expertise

• Azure Synapse Analytics/ADF – strong hands-on expertise (must-have).
• Understanding of ADLS Gen 2 (must-have).
• Data bricks/notebooks– strong hands-on experience writing code in pyspark etc(must-have).
• SQL (complex queries, optimization, transformation logic)
• Power BI – hands-on experience in reporting and dashboards (must-have).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (good to have).
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards).
• Experience integrating Azure system with ERP systems such as Salesforce.com, SAP (good to have).
• Azure Cloud Services – strong understanding of data integration, storage, and governance.

Work Experience Requirements

Number of Overall Years Necessary: 3+

• At least 2+ years of experience in Data world.
• Proven track record of successful Azure Synapse projects and initiatives

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of overall experience in corporate world.
• 2+ years of experience in data world with Azure Synapse Analytics/ADF.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in data bricks and notebooks.
• 3+ years of experience in SQL.
• 2–3 years of experience in cloud technologies.  
• Proven hands-on experience with Power BI (good to have).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
