Are you passionate about quality, innovation, and leadership in the medical device industry? Hollister Incorporated, a global leader in healthcare products, is seeking a Design Assurance Supervisor r to lead our Continence Care Design Assurance team in Ballina, Co. Mayo.
About the Role:
As the Design Assurance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting New Product Development (NPD), Operations, Engineering, and Marketing through our SPRING NPC and CWR systems. You’ll also contribute to global quality initiatives and lead critical projects at our Ballina site.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership (40%)
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Design Assurance Quality Engineers.
- Conduct performance reviews, development planning, and regular 1:1s.
- Provide expert guidance on design control and sustaining engineering.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams.
Design Assurance (40%)
- Represent Quality in SPRING and Design Control projects.
- Facilitate dFMEAs, risk assessments, and control plans.
- Support test method development, clinical validation, and process verification.
- Monitor and implement changes in global and regional quality regulations.
- Use statistical analysis to resolve product issues and ensure compliance.
Plant & Global Support (20%)
- Act as a subject matter expert in Design Assurance.
- Support protocol/report development and customer visits.
- Contribute to global quality and compliance projects as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Minimum BSc in Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience: 5–8 years in Quality Systems, Design Assurance, or Systems Engineering in the medical device industry.
- Leadership: Proven supervisory experience is essential.
Technical Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of Design Controls, validation, and FMEA.
- Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971, EU MDR, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with internal and external audits.
