The Lead Systems Administrator is responsible for the organization's computer systems and servers, ensuring optimal performance and security. This role involves installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software that are complex in nature. Additionally, the Lead Systems Administrator develops processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment and enterprise infrastructure applications. This position also includes mentoring, leading, and coaching junior team members, and taking on complex tasks. Hollister operates in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Lead smooth operations and of the organization's IT infrastructure ensuring the Infrasucture, Systems and applications are secure.
- System Management: Serve as a lead technical expert in system administration for operating systems, including global or multi-office network infrastructures.
- Installation & Configuration: Install and configure complex software and hardware, including servers, devices, and firewalls.
- Performance Monitoring: Define what needs to be monitored, setup monitoring of system performance, IT operations, and storage utilization resulting in alerts when there are potential disruptions.
- Upgrades & Maintenance: Plan and execute necessarycomplex hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.
- User Management: Manage complex user accounts and assets, assign and update security permissions according to the organization's security policy.
- Technical Support: Provide lead support for escalated help desk requests and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Technical Leadership: Lead a team of systems administrators, coordinate with different departments, and mentor team members.
- Documentation: Develop, document, communicate, and enforce network technology policies.
- Training: Define trainign content and train new system users and set up their accounts.
- CMDB Management: Define CMDB setup, manage application, server, and business process mapping data in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Dashboard Management: Create and manage dashboards in monitoring tools to monitor the performance of services, servers, and infrastructure assets.
- Cloud Management: Manage and monitor assets in the Cloud to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Database Management: Manage and monitor data-related assets, including databases, to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Job Scheduling Systems: Manage assets and maintain job scheduling systems to ensure efficient and timely execution of tasks.
- Backup Systems: Lead the definition of backup processes, manage and monitor backup systems and services to ensure data recovery and protection.
- Process Development: Lead in the development of processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server/network environment and enterprise infrastructure applications.
- Data Center Security: Assist with the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center at supported locations.
- Collaboration: Take initiative and lead partnering with other IT groups to deliver IT services.

- Coordinate, and participate in key process improvements related to the client/server/network environment.
- Coordinate and collaborate with systems engineering, business application, and database architecture functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate servers to meet business needs.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain in-depth working knowledge of business and complex technology and remain current with emerging industry trends.
- Metrics & Reporting: Define and establish and track appropriate metrics and key performance indicators.

- Implement processes, tools, and support ongoing service level measurement metrics and reporting.
- Create, maintain, and support processes and ensure ongoing communication of such processes to internal teams and business customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify avenues for continuous improvement for services within scope of responsibility, including new approaches and processes that contribute to improvements within the department and to business growth/efficiency in the wider organization.

- Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure systems integrity and security.
- Assist in designing and implementing data center/server room security features, including HVAC control, environmental alarms, access restrictions, and so on.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
- Consulting & Support: Provide business consulting and technical support on complex issues to all business areas globally.

- Perform file system configuration and management; define and perform server backups and recovery procedures.
- Check incident management tool for entries on network and systems issues; prioritize, respond to, and resolve assigned team incidents as appropriate.
- Complete assigned tickets on time and with quality; communicating status to management and the requestor.
- Serve as cornerstone for escalating system issues; engage vendor support; provide timely response to customer escalations.
- Participate in data center disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Assist with planning and implementation of system/network/application upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches in conjunction with the Infrastructure and Engineering teams.
- Administer enterprise directory services, enterprise infrastructure applications, and supporting system infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call support rotation as required.
- Compose and compile thorough documentation to enable ongoing administration and support of their respective server, network(s), systems, and applications.
Essential Functions of the Role**:
- Talk on the phone with suppliers and Hollister associates
- Read technical manuals / trade journals
- Use a personal computer and strong proficiency in Office software
- Travel via plane or automobile
- Lift up to 70 lbs.
Work Experience Requirements
- Experience: 9-12 years of hands-on experience in system administration.
- Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills, knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, and proficiency in at least one scripting language.
- Attributes: Strong problem-solving and communication skills, team management abilities, and a solid understanding of system security techniques.
- Experience with global or multi-office network infrastructures.
- Experience with various operating systems and IT services.
- Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
- Experience and thorough understanding of latest Windows Server and Active Directory Domain design, implementation, and administration: Including new features like enhanced security, improved scalability, and integration with hybrid cloud environments
- Experience and thorough understanding of networking technologies: Including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS (with support for Zero Trust DNS and dynamic updates), and WINS
- Proficient in Microsoft Exchange Server administration: Including the latest updates and features
- Proficient in database backup and general backup techniques
- Knowledge of VPN implementation and administration: Including best practices for secure VPN deployment and management, leveraging strong cryptography and multi-factor authentication
- Knowledge of VMware implementation, administration and best practices
- Knowledge of SAN technology implementation and administration: Including modern strategies for SAN deployment, firmware updates, and regular health checks
- Knowledge of network switching, routing, firewalls, and associated protocols
- Azure Cloud expertise: Proficient in managing, deploying, and integrating Azure services, including virtual machines, databases, AI solutions, and effectively managing the Azure environment through the Azure portal
Local Specifications (English and Local Language):
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, ensuring clear and accurate documentation, correspondence, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

- The anticipated base salary range for this position is €61,000 - €87,000. The actual salary varies based on applicant's, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
