Summary

Participates in a structured apprenticeship program to develop foundational knowledge and practical skills in manufacturing engineering within a regulated production environment. Works under the guidance of experienced professionals to support manufacturing operations, process improvement, quality assurance, and technical problem-solving, while completing an accredited academic qualification. Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and gains hands-on experience in engineering principles, systems, and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the analysis and improvement of manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Assist in identifying and resolving routine technical issues within a production environment.
• Contribute to process development, validation, and optimization activities.
• Support quality control and assurance processes to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, records, and reports in accordance with engineering standards.
• Assist in the use of digital tools, software, and automation technologies for engineering and process tasks.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and process optimization methodologies.
• Support inventory tracking, data management, and documentation systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality, to support project and operational activities.
• Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in structured learning activities, including academic coursework and workplace projects, to develop technical and professional competencies.

• Ability to learn and apply engineering principles in a practical manufacturing environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Follow instructions and work under supervision while developing independence over time.
• Maintain attention to detail when working with technical documentation and processes.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Communicate effectively across internal teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and analyze data using tools like Excel, SAP, or HRIS systems.
  • Maintain secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting.

Education & Work Requirements

  • HS/Secondary school with 0-1 years of related experience

Education & Work Preferences

• Completion of secondary education or equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility and commitment to enrol in and complete a recognized Manufacturing Engineering apprenticeship program.
• Demonstrated interest in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of mathematics and communication skills relevant to engineering studies.
• Ability to follow procedures, demonstrate attention to detail, and apply problem-solving skills.
• Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to participate in both academic study and workplace-based learning over the duration of the apprenticeship.

• Academic performance in subjects such as mathematics, science, or engineering-related disciplines.
• Exposure to technical, mechanical, or manufacturing environments through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities.
• Interest in areas such as automation, process improvement, quality systems, or digital manufacturing technologies.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning and development.
• Ability to adapt to a structured program combining academic and workplace learning.
