Summary:
We are seeking a forward-thinking Digitisation Manager to lead our Industry 4.0, IIoT, and digital transformation efforts across our global medical device manufacturing operations. This role will focus on real-time data enablement, shop floor intelligence, and IT/OT convergence to improve operational efficiency, quality, and decision-making. The Digitisation Manager will own the digitisation roadmap and drive the use of smart technologies to support manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a global digitization strategy for manufacturing operations aligned with business goals.
- Drive the Industry 4.0 agenda across sites, including IIoT deployment, data architecture, and intelligent automation.
- Lead IT/OT convergence initiatives in collaboration with enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and automation teams.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute use cases that leverage real-time data for OEE, quality, downtime, and throughput improvements.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and quality teams to translate CTQ data into tangible process improvements.
- Build business cases and secure buy-in for digitization projects with clear ROI and KPI impact.
- Ensure digital solutions comply with regulatory, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
- Mentor and guide cross-functional teams in digital literacy and adoption of smart factory technologies.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Indicate any physical requirements needed for the role Drive digital transformation initiatives on the manufacturing floor to improve operational efficiency.
- Act as the central point for IT/OT convergence and real-time data utilization.
- Ensure alignment of digital solutions with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Translate CTQ and process data into meaningful insights and implement continuous improvement actions.
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams globally to adopt smart manufacturing solutions.
Work Experience Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in digital transformation or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field.
- Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals preferred.
- Proven track record in implementing IoT, smart factory, or manufacturing intelligence projects.
- Strong experience in cross-functional collaboration and change management.
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of IIoT architectures, edge computing, and connectivity protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA).
- Hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, PLCs, and data historian systems.
- Familiarity with IT/OT integration best practices including cybersecurity and network segmentation.
- Knowledge of data analytics, visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ThingWorx, Ignition), and real-time dashboards.
- Strong grasp of regulatory requirements, data governance, and digital validation in manufacturing environments.
