Summary
The Manager, Accounting Shared Services is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting operations within a shared services environment, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting for assigned legal entities or business units. The role provides leadership to accounting teams, ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements, and maintains strong internal controls. This position partners closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support business performance, manage risk, and drive continuous process improvement in line with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide people leadership to a team of accounting professionals, including work allocation, coaching, performance management, and development planning.
- Oversee general ledger activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentation to ensure a complete and auditable record.
- Coordinate and manage month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and reporting requirements are met.
- Ensure balance sheet integrity through timely reconciliation, analysis, and resolution of reconciling items, with regular reporting to Finance leadership.
- Maintain oversight of statutory reporting and support tax compliance processes (e.g., indirect and direct taxes) in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with internal and external auditors, including preparation of audit documentation and timely response to audit requests.
- Oversee key operational accounting areas as applicable, such as payroll accounting, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, treasury activities, and operating expense control.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal control standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes, strengthen controls, and improve efficiency within the shared services environment; lead or support continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Work Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
- Post-qualification experience in accounting or finance, including responsibility for general ledger, period close, and financial reporting activities.
- Demonstrated experience leading or managing accounting teams.
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and standards, and experience supporting statutory reporting and audit processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
- Experience working in a shared services, distribution, or multinational environment.
- Exposure to multiple accounting frameworks (e.g., local GAAP, IFRS, or US GAAP).
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement or transformation initiatives within Finance.
