Summary:
The Plant Controller will be responsible for the strategic financial management, reporting, and leadership of the manufacturing site, aligning with Hollister’s Mission and Vision. This role will oversee cost accounting, standard costing, financial closing and reporting, annual operating plan, internal controls, fixed assets, inventory management, and other ad hoc analysis. As a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, the Plant Controller will drive performance, mitigate risk, and provide data-driven insights to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives. This position will lead a high-performing finance team, including senior-level professionals, and will be instrumental in developing and communicating strategic objectives to enhance financial processes and improve cost efficiencies across the site.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the financial operations of the manufacturing site, ensuring continuous improvement of sub-functional processes and alignment with strategic objectives
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, including senior-level professionals and potentially other managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic alignment
• Serve as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, developing and communicating strategic objectives to achieve sub-functional results and drive overall site performance
• Establish and enforce sub-function policies and practices that drive financial governance, compliance, and operational excellence
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance financial processes, improve cost efficiencies, and support the achievement of long-term business objectives
• Track and report actual performance to plan/forecast and assist in the preparation and review of monthly performance reports/metrics
• Coordinate and manage the annual budget cycle as well as all forecasts for the plant
• Communicate, drive, and monitor the site’s productivity performance and work with the site operations team to drive continuous improvement across the business
• Lead the development of all capital expenditure requirements (AFE) including completeness, accuracy, and performance measures
• Lead the management of plant fixed assets by overseeing physical inventories, impaired asset assessments, and depreciation forecasts
• Ensure SAP reflects accurate standard costs and perpetual inventory records
• Ensure inventories are recorded in accordance with GAAP and adequate obsolescence reserves are maintained
• Maintain strong financial governance, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures
• Other duties and tasks as assigned
Work Experience Requirements:
• 10+ years in a relevant position, with significant management and leadership experience
• Experience in a manufacturing cost accounting environment, demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise
• Proven track record of managing and developing senior-level professionals and potentially other managers, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture
• Experience in developing and communicating strategic objectives, driving sub-functional results, and leading strategic initiatives
• Experience working in a global environment is preferable but not mandatory
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or similar is strongly preferred.
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent professional certification is required
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
• Ability to Provide strategic direction and leadership to the finance team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and continuous improvement of financial processes
• In-depth understanding of financial processes, procedures, and systems, with expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting
• Proven ability to lead and develop senior-level professionals and potentially other managers, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and support strategic initiatives
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in solving critical financial problems and achieving sub-functional results
• Ability to partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and support strategic initiatives
• Ability to develop and communicate strategic objectives to achieve sub-functional results and drive overall site performance
• Ability to navigate through ambiguity and inspire the finance team to remain steadfast under pressure
