Summary:
The role of the Engineer Supervisor is to provide leadership, expertise and technical support to the Hollister project/process engineering team. The position will be based in Ballina and will serve Manufacturing Operations as primary customer. The position will liaise with Global Engineering (GE), New Product Development (NPD), Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA) & Supply Chain (SCM) in order to effectively carry out the teams responsibilities
Responsibility:
- Provide leadership to the team to enable team members to reach and exceed their goals and/or expectations in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the administration, scheduling and budgeting for a complete operational project, or project support to other engineers as assigned to meet or exceed the established timeline, budget and key project deliverables.
- Manage process change projects through the Change Control (CC) process. Work closely with Quality Engineers to ensure products meet established quality standards, and processes meet established regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO).
- Provide periodic status on projects to management, project stakeholders, and production teams.
- Reduce production costs through cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and automation. Provide justification based on data analysis.
- Identify, evaluate and implement new technology into the manufacturing processes, new and existing.
- Drive CAPA and other quality improvement projects.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of revision controlled technical documents as required by the quality system.
- Provide Leadership to the team.
Work Experience Requirements
- 5-8 years of working experience in a leadership position (shift leader, group leader, etc.).
- Work experience in manufacturing (Medical, Pharma, Food, Automotive) preferred.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management or similar field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Specialised Skills/Technical Knowledge
- Ability to work within strict deadlines with the capability to accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at once.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a keen attention to details.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational, communication, proofreading, editing and technical writing skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control processes and MRP system.
- Knowledge and skills working with Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
