Senior Project Engineer Summary:

The Senior Project Engineer will serve Manufacturing Operations as primary customer. The position will liaise with Global Engineering(GE), New Product Development (NPD), Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance(QA) & Supply Chain(SCM) in order to effectively carry out its responsibilities.


This person will lead and coordinate the cost savings activities associated with the Design To Value (DTV) program. The cost savings activities could include identification of cost saving opportunities or the execution of chartered cost savings projects. The role will be a global position supporting the highest opportunity projects.


Senior Project Engineer Responsibilities:

Design To Value (DTV):

  • Lead and/or support cost savings activities across multi-functional and cross-geographical teams to meet deliverables.
  • Lead and/or support the design and testing of pilot or mockup processes for proof of concept.
  • Provide input to the DTV Project Roadmap and DTV Resource Plan in support of Global Operations’ cost reduction effort.

Business Acumen:

  • Understand accounting principles; cost of goods sold, capital and expense planning in support of project and departmental performance. 
  • Effectively prepare and communicate authorization for expenditure on capital equipment.


  • Effectively communicate with and influence cross-functional associates to obtain buy-in.
  • Provide project status updates to multiple functions and plants. 
  • Create written reports, white papers, and best practice documents for use throughout function and organization.


Senior Project Engineer Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ work experience in general project engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems and their application in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years Project Management experience; Project Management Professional Certification
  • Process background desirable; with medical, chemical or plastics experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Plastics or Electrical Engineering or related discipline required
  • Master's Degree a plus
  • SAP
  • Six Sigma
  • Project Management
  • Manufacturing process development experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of DFM principles, DOE techniques and statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation.
