This position assists the Blend Mix Team in operating the mixing machines to produce mixture of loaves for customers in a timely manner while meeting Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost goals for the Barrier Value Stream.



  • Works toward and acquires the required skills to advance to a minimum of a Level 3 in the Skill Based Pay system.
  • Actively supports the team through commitment to Quality, Service, Cost, and Safety.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and goal setting/accomplishments.
  • Proactive and reactive in 5S.
  • Volunteer services and/or knowledge on team projects and Team Engagement Roles.
  • Ability to use problem solving/lean tools to resolve team issues
  • Ability to become certified on all processes that require certification.
  • Understand and operate under the requirements of a Controlled/Clean Room
  • Support and practice current policies
  • Safely operate a hand truck to move product
  • Regularly uses effective communication skills in giving/receiving feedback to resolve conflict situations.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as instructed by Team Leader.


Essential Functions of the Role**:

Operations and Processes for required training are, but not limited to:

  • Pre-weighs powder prior to blending in ribbon blenders, and run all mixers
  • Cuts mix into appropriate sizes, wraps, seals, and stores in tubs on skids or racks
  • Mark tubs in color codes for cleaning and by batch number
  • Performs material handing functions
  • Troubleshoots issues with all machines to maintain OEE
  • Start up and shut down all machines while following safety procedures
  • Performs the operator section in PMs
  • Follows and keeps/maintains accurate batch sheets and batch numbers
  • Ability to qualify and wear a full or half face respirator
  • Ability to visually inspect, measure, and test product per specifications


Physical Requirements of the Role:

  • Ability to frequently reach, stand, walk, and go up steps
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to occasionally push and pull up a minimum of 500 pounds with a hand truck
  • Ability to frequently stoop, and crouch and twist
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively with team members
  • Ability to visually inspect defects


Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous manufacturing experience required
  • Must be computer literate


Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
