Summary:

As a member of the Global Finance team, this role primarily supports the Ostomy Business Team and provides the financial insights to inform strategic decisions, deliver against our shared commitments, and identify and support areas of opportunity to improve performance.  This individual will help shape the future of how we make a difference in the journey of life for our customers, colleagues, and communities. 

 

Key objectives include:

  • Strategic Planning and Annual Operating Planning
  • New Product Commercialization
  • Business partnership, including Analysis and Reporting

To accomplish these assigned objectives, this individual will collaborate and coordinate with a variety of functions including the Global Ostomy Business Team, Global/Local Marketing, Market Access, New Product Development, Business Unit leadership, Finance, Key Accounts/Sales and Global Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Annual Operating Planning

  • Complete the Strategic Plan rollup of global financials and review alignment to previous submissions. Reconcile and submit Strategic Plan financials timely in cooperation with Global Marketing Insights and Analytics and Corporate FP&A. 
  • Review the Annual Operating Plans for alignment with the Strategic Plan, including market share gains.
  • Support the Ostomy Business Team in preparing key analytics and reporting, including sales and gross margins.

New Product Commercialization

  • Complete and analyze Ostomy new product financials in collaboration with new product development teams, including reasonableness and accuracy of projections and assumptions. Complete financial analysis and insights for gate packages.
  • Align new product commercialization with Strategic Plans and Annual Operating Plans, including leveraging new platforms to integrate new products forecasting into planning systems, such as SAP and BPC.
  • Collaborate and provide financial analysis for major project planning, including alignment with strategic objectives and key priorities.
  • Drive process improvements in forecasting models, collaboration between business units and global operations on financial assumptions, and complete timely finance checkpoints for projects without prolonging new product launch cycles.
  • Drive post-launch financial reviews of new products, including incremental sales growth and cannibalization.

Business Partnership, including Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze key business trends and provide insights to leaders and local teams.
  • Leverage global tools to improve financial analysis standardization and best practices.
  • Partner with Research and Development and Global Marketing by providing analysis and reporting to support strategies and tactics.
  • Support timely monthly reporting, including Operating Committee.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as needed or required.

 

Experience

  • 3-5 years / FA II overall years' experience
  • 5+ years Sr. FA overall years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • MBA preferred
  • Finance experience in a commercial environment necessary, medical device industry experience desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with business units and senior management to effectively consider ideas and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex financial analyses, including use of analytical tools such as PowerBI
  • Demonstrate proven success in decision-making, organizational and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and work with little supervision
