We are a small motivated IT Enterprise Architecture (EA) team on a journey to take our practice to the next level and looking for someone that is results oriented but patient, tenacious but respectful, and enjoys working toward longer term goals that benefit our customers and Hollister.  This is a key role that will be responsible for helping move EA towards a standards based infrastructure practice and will work closely with our Infrastructure Development and IT Operations teams. 

 

Summary of Responsibilities include:

  • Staying abreast of infrastructure related technological advances in the industry and advising on how they can best be leveraged
  • Carrying out technology & Vendor selections
  • Creating IT Infrastructure standards
  • Creating the solution architecture and design for infrastructure related IT projects
  • Driving close collaboration between various IT teams (Infrastructure Development, IT Operations, IT PMO, EA)

Summary:

 

Responsible for leadership, facilitation, analysis, design and development of the enterprise infrastructure architecture.  Ensure enterprise infrastructure architecture is aligned with business and IT requirements and strategies.  Member of the Technical Review Board.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains the enterprise infrastructure architectural plan including global infrastructure device standards, configuration and manufacturer standards.  Establishes guiding principles and standards that guide infrastructure and information solution decisions. 
  • Design and plan the implementation of an enterprise infrastructure architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as to rectify gaps and pain points within the current state.
  • Analyze enterprise business context (trends and business strategy) to derive infrastructure architecture. 
  • Analyze the current infrastructure environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement while optimizing costs.
  • Develops infrastructure solution roadmaps to ensure the infrastructure environment supports the future requirements and business needs.
  • Member of the Technical Review Board.
  • Oversee and facilitate infrastructure software evaluations and selections according to the defined technical review process.  Coordinate solution feasibility studies and/or pilots to facilitate evaluation as necessary.
  • Develops release upgrade plans for infrastructure platforms. 
  • Ensure optimal transparency, quality, consistency and controlled redundancy across the enterprise infrastructure.
  • Establish guidelines for reuse of enterprise infrastructure artifacts.  Eliminate unnecessary redundancy in the overall enterprise infrastructure architecture
  • Facilitate consistent data access analysis and design with effective recovery strategies and data security at the enterprise level.
  • Assist with designing the governance activities associated with ensuring infrastructure architecture compliance.
  • Analyze infrastructure solution industry, technology and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Maintains relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Be a positive advocate for the enterprise architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results.
  • Oversee or consult on infrastructure solution architecture (for example, systems) implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions.
  • Oversee and facilitate the development of infrastructure systems and data standards. 
  • Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems, data or infrastructure to the infrastructure architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the infrastructure architecture to accommodate project needs.
  • Identify the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures and culture) and financial impact of the infrastructure architecture. Assists in development of resource and financial plans to support architecture.
  • Create infrastructure standards that will inherently protect Hollister information assets as well as be cost effective, efficient, and effective.
  • Document infrastructure architecture design and analysis work, including project postmortem documentation and metric collection.
  • Monitor compliance and related guidance (such as data retention, audit requirements, data privacy/GDPR) to determine impact on enterprise information architecture.
  • Establishes, maintains and publishes customer communications related to the enterprise infrastructure architecture.
  • Provides backup to other team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study is required
  • 5-8 years experience in Information Technology, minimum of two years in infrastructure systems design.
  • In-depth experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex infrastructure solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in the design and construction of infrastructure architectures that enable well-integrated transactional, collaborative, resilient and efficient systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and creativity in solving architecture related challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Remains unbiased toward any specific vendor or technology choice; is more interested in results than personal preferences.

  • Knowledge of all components of infrastructure architecture.
  • Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design techniques.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure development methodologies
  • Experience with data center outsourcing, SaaS, IaaS, cloud and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems.
  • Understanding of security by design concepts and how to integrate security into infrastructure to protect information
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as well as determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems that involve remote and elusive symptoms, often spanning multiple environments in a business area.
  • Experience with various information modeling techniques (such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams or create/read/update/delete matrices).
  • High-level understanding of relational database management systems and other data structures.
  • Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting including ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives.
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Ability to apply multiple infrastructure and data solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing development techniques.
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.
