The Master Data Analyst will execute Master Data Management strategies within a predefined Master Data Governance structure. Standard work and special projects like information systems upgrades, product portfolio changes, or regulatory changes will make up the majority of the work.  This position is critical to the successful operation of the global business as Master Data is used to drive business processes from Customer Service through Operations and Finance. This position plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining Master Data Management strategies.


Master Data Analyst Responsibilities:

Maintain Master Data as it relates to Material Master, BOMs, ECNs, and Routings.

  • Participate in New Product Development projects to identify and assign Master Data responsibilities.

  • Adhere to established MDM procedures and standards to create or update Master Data.  This includes BOMs, Routings, and other material master data. 

  • Originate and route ECNs for approval.

  • Process approved ECNs in SAP.

Participate in implementation of system changes.

  • Provide testing support for system changes including eDoc, SAP, WinShuttle, EDW, and iConnect.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams that impact Master Data.

  • Identify Master Data changes that are necessary to support Packaging, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Production, and Marketing initiatives.

  • Processes driving activity include but are not limited to PDR/MDR, CWR, CPLR, and cost savings projects.

Participate in overall SCM team objectives and projects which may fall outside of day-to-day responsibilities.

Participate in Master Data Summits and regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Actively participate with Master Data team members from multiple locations to resolve issues and identify improvements.

Cross train with Master Data Specialists, usually located in manufacturing and distribution sites to provide back-up as necessary.

  • Assign bar codes for manufactured products as necessary.

  • Maintain routings to support manufacturing.

Maintain/Create Master Data procedures in Quality system.

  • Update procedures to ensure accurate information and current processes.

  • Create procedures as identified.

Review and identify proper system set up for SPRING, CPLR, MDR/PDR, Change Control, and similar requests.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to process CPLR requests.

  • Set up material masters, sales BOMs, or other system needs to support launching current products into new markets.


Master Data Analyst Requirements:

  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 5-8.

  • 2-5 years of experience in Master Data management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or Mathematics required. Experience could substitute for degree requirement.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Capability to support multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP solutions, especially with a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong orientation to details.
