The Environmental Health & Safety Intern (EHS) will contribute to Hollister’s growth and sustainability by supporting the safety of our Associates and environmental stewardship.  Support global environmental progress like environmental performance data & reporting, planning and coordinating supporting activities to engage our Associates in World Environment Day activities, and helping to form responses to customer environmental inquiries.    Hollister Incorporated operates in a hybrid work environment.



  • Apply basic knowledge under supervision, on concepts, principles and technical capabilities for projects of limited scope and complexity.
  • Support cross-functional projects for environmental engagement and projects in Libertyville to improve the environment. 
  • Collect and improve environmental data reported from sites.  Establish an environmental reporting mechanism to gather data from leased sites and business unit offices. 
  • Participate in global EHS meetings with participants from all Hollister sites, and present information to support the group’s objectives.
  • Evaluate greenhouse gas emissions inventories and reporting and make recommendations on our climate improvement journey. 
  • Evaluate and organize enhancement requests related to the injury tracking application ‘Intelex’
  • Assist safety team members in how to conduct monthly safety inspections and lead monthly meetings.
  • Gathering of data for the development of machine specific LOTO procedures.
  • Prepare training materials as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and review with EHS Manager and Team Leaders as needed.



  • 0-2 years of experience in an engineering work environment
  • Technical & business writing
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications
  • Junior, Senior, or graduate student in a relevant engineering, environmental science, occupational health & safety or related discipline
  • Familiar with basic PC and Microsoft applications
  • Fluent in English
