Technical Team Resource Person (TTRP) Nights

Summary: 

Contribute to the profitability, continuity and growth of Hollister, Incorporated.

Responsibilities:

Production Resource

• Assures that teams plan and schedule machines and personnel according to MRP, MPS, CRP, and S&OP schedules and capabilities to assure the proper quality and quantity of products are available for use.

• Troubleshoots process and machine problems, assists the Molding Technicians and maintenance team members to ensure molding machines are kept running.

• Reviews existing and new equipment to ensure compliance with all product and process specifications.

• Works with vendors and engineering to optimize processes and give technical assistance with repairs when required.  As a resource to the operating group, provides leadership, helps maintain positive human relations, assists in problem solving, and is a resource for communicating ideas, concerns, etc.

• Continuously audits activities and results in the value stream such as product quality, personnel workmanship, machine performance, production and payroll records, QA analysis, etc.

• Provides information to the Value Stream Manager concerning forecast labor requirements based on volume forecast, vacation liability, and the like to assure adequate but not excessive manpower for both current and expected future needs; submits labor requisitions to increase manpower

• Promotes Company's position regarding equal opportunity employment, and assists in the selection and hiring of hourly operating personnel and in the establishment of job expectations for existing and new hourly job positions.

• Available and able to work any production shift as required to provide or coordinate the resources necessary for the efficient operation of the Value Stream.  Assures that individuals reporting to this manager develop capabilities around the HPS process.

• Works with the Facilities Manager to ensure that proper support is given to the production teams by the Maintenance and Molding Technicians. Task include:  providing input, when necessary, to assure that proper procedures and preventive maintenance schedules are incorporated into the production teams to the extent practical. 

• Mentors, advises and assists in the development of other less experienced associates including other Team Resource Persons and “B” level team members.

Quality Resource

• Assures that teams develop and exhibit increased quality awareness through the use of reports and the interaction with the quality resources.

• Interprets specifications and is available as a resource to insure generally accepted quality levels in the assigned areas per specs and process capability

• Assists teams in executing labor and equipment to experimental work and protocols and coordinates the reporting of the results

• May participate on Process Certification Team activity

Kirksville Plant Resource 

• As assigned, performs special projects to: capture opportunities and correct weaknesses in the plant; to broaden the professional value of the team resource person; and to increase the team resource person’s worth to Hollister

• Provides staffing support to other teams and team managers when appropriate

• Supports the programs and changes of the Plant Manager and the Value Stream Manager and as Team Resource Person contributes to the operations of the Value Stream.

 Material Resource

• Monitors inventories of products within the responsible area; oversees requisition of raw materials/W.I.P. products according to schedule requirements and as a safety check on low volume items, and assists in maintaining supplies in inventory connected with the assigned Value Stream, coordinating with Purchasing as required.

• Requires a general understanding of materials management and a thorough working knowledge of the Hollister MRP and SAP system.

Budget and Cost Control Resource

• Assists in the budget preparation process, orders budgeted items, and has the ongoing responsibility to account for budget variances including team generated budgetary needs

• Controls costs and assists therein, by coordinating, with input from production teams and other team resource people Provides updates, tracks labor efficiencies and material variances (including waste and operating scrap), submits transmittals, stimulates cost saving ideas, and provides leadership in methods to improve cost position.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 3-5
  • Experience working with a variety of molding machines.
  • Experience working with a variety of robots for injection molding machines.
  • Experience in processing different types of resins.
  • Experience working with Decoupled Molding and an understanding of Scientific Injection Molding (SIM).
  • Experience in Supervisory/Coaching/Facilitation in an operational environment with constant interaction with operators, technicians and equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise to coach Technicians and troubleshoot molding issues
  • Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting of processes and process equipment.

     

  • CI, Lean, 5s and Six Sigma background preferred.

     

  • Must be willing to work night shifts, occasional weekends and be on an on-call rotation.

 

Education

  • B.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations, or equivalent, preferred

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • Coaching, facilitation skills

     

  • Computer Skills, Conflict Resolution, Communication Skills

     

  • Science or business background involving molding plastic parts
