MRO Stock Clerk


Supports all aspects of the replenishment of repair parts and maintenance supplies, including supporting stockroom strategy for inventory control, maintaining vendor relationships and controlling costs.  Coordinates the acquisition of stockroom parts and maintains accurate inventory of the stockroom.


Source and purchase the inventory needed for  MRO items

  • Resolve accounting, non-payment, discrepancies on invoices with external vendors.
  • Build relationships with external vendors to enhance purchasing experience and benefits for the Kirksville plant.
  • Maintain all inventory movement in the computerized maintenance management software.
  • Physically verify inventory is accurate.
  • Confirm inventory against purchase orders and stock items by part number.
  • Clean and maintain stockroom according to 5S principles.
  • Work with engineering group or corporate to pull prints and drawings as required.
  • Create, issue, and receive purchase ordered items for MRO.
  • Purchase MRO items using credit card as needed.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statement.
  • Assist internal customers (engineers, mechanics, associates, etc.) with continuous improvement efforts with regards to purchasing and inventory of materials.
  • Responsible for achieving competency in all identified skill requirements outlined in associated training profile for position.
  • Discerns stock levels and continually adjusts based on usage.
  • Holds associates accountable to stockroom procedures
  • Trains associates in use of the MRO stock room and in proper stock room procedures.
  • Monitor stockroom activity, and reconcile activity with work order or asset part issuance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives
  • Manage the Blue Mountain CMMS MRO inventories
  • Drives continuous improvement for stockroom
  • Drives inventory accuracy initiatives

Essential Functions of Role:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
  • Ability to interface with a computer for long periods of time
  • Frequent movement over large manufacturing floor area
  • Must be able to climb stairs (no elevator available)
  • Reaching and bending
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Operate a forklift and scissor lifts.
  • Constant utilization of listening skills, both in person and over the phone
  • Ability to hold associates accountable to procedures

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 0-2
  •  2-5 years parts and tools knowledge, especially purchasing and inventory controls experience preferred


  •  High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Resourceful and adaptable to change
  • Database experience a plus
  • Strong Excel Skills
