Summary:
The Head of HR partners with the ABC Managing Director and Leadership Team to develop and lead the HR function for the company. The scope of the role includes supporting Associates across multiple locations and responsibility for the broad spectrum of human resources including: HR Strategy, Organization Design & Effectiveness, Recruitment, Talent Management/Employee Development, Performance Management/Employee Relations, HR Policies & Procedures and Company Culture. ABC operates in a hybrid work environment. Attendance in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and accelerate the HR people strategy in alignment with the company’s overall strategy, ensuring the company is recognized as an employer of choice for people who embody the ABC culture. Responsible for all employee administration activities within the business.
- Lead all people processes while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and human resources best practices (such as performance management, talent management, employee development, employee engagement, legal/regulatory compliance, safety and benefit policies & practices). Continually refine processes as business needs change.
- Deliver and maintain a recruitment strategy which seeks to attract, retain, and develop talent. In collaboration with leaders, support an effective new hire experience and onboarding for all new hires. Act as a brand ambassador for ABC Medical pursuing opportunities to evolve our employee value proposition (EVP) and effectively sharing the company and culture.
- Support the development of employees and a high-performance culture. Counsel and influence leaders, acting as a trusted advisor; coaching them to develop their own capabilities and build the capabilities within their teams.
- Manage, motivate, coach and inspire the HR team to deliver a value-added, proactive HR service to the business to advance employee engagement and company performance. Ensure payroll, benefits, employee safety programs and all employee administration activities are delivered by the HR team.
- Responsible for all employee relations issues across a wide range of processes ensuring that legislation, policy and best practice are applied fairly and consistently across the company. Provide direction to leadership on employment issues; knowing when to consult with others and/or legal counsel as appropriate. Responsible for the development, implementation and effective communication of human resources related policies and procedures ensuring compliance with all current employment laws.
- Develop an annual business plan and operating budget for the department and monitor the implementation of these to ensure that financial targets are achieved.
- Lead communication efforts for the organization ensuring consistency of messaging.
- Other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related discipline is required
- Masters/MBA strongly (a plus)
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with HR generalist expertise and experience leading HR in multi-site locations
- Experience working in a local market for a global organization is highly desired
- Strong mix of business and commercial understanding with operational HR experience
- In-depth human resources generalist experience with strong knowledge across the core functional areas of recruitment, organizational development, talent management, reward and recognition, employee communications, change management and performance management.
- Experience working in a multinational business, ideally with a track record of operating effectively in a matrix organization across cultural borders.
- Ability to act as a thought partner to key business stakeholders, leading and managing crucial conversations
- Human Resources leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching and developing a business partner team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and challenge key business stakeholders
- Up to 15% travel per year.
