We seek a highly skilled and experienced Network Administrator to join our Network Infrastructure team. As a Network Engineer/Administrator, you will be critical in implementing and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. You will support our network systems' day-to-day operation, performance, and security while partnering with the business and network engineering team.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong familiarity with network devices such as Cisco switches, routers experience, ASA firewalls, Citrix ADC, Fortinet NextGen Firewalls, and network technologies such as DMVPN, DHCP, DNS, NTP, SSH, TELNET, Remote Access VPN, Global Service Load Balancing (GSLB), etc.

 

Experience in production environments and willingness to be on-call. Highly capable of troubleshooting, analyzing, and diagnosing issues.

  1. Effectively partners with other IT groups to deliver IT services.
    • Collaborates with other teams on various technology initiatives and establishes customer trust and confidence.
    • Work within international business teams and can participate in project meetings with international colleagues.  Flexible work hours to meet international timelines.
    • Contribute to planning short- and long-term network capacity and disaster recovery requirements.
    • Leads, coordinates and participates in key process improvements related to the network environment.
    • Coordinates and collaborates with technical development, business application, and database architecture functions to ensure corporate network infrastructure availability, reliability, and scalability to meet business needs.

 

  1. Maintains in-depth working knowledge of business and technology and remains current with emerging industry trends.
  • Remains current with emerging industry standards, obtaining and/or maintaining required certifications.

 

  1. Establishes and tracks appropriate metrics and key performance indicators.
    • Conducts ongoing assessments, collecting and analyzing network statistics to optimize the network and telecommunication systems.
    • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses to recommend/implement scalable solutions
    • Implement processes and tools supporting ongoing network service level measurement metrics and reporting.
    • Creates, maintains, and supports processes and ensures ongoing communication of such processes to internal teams and business customers.

 

  1. Assists with identifying, isolating, and resolving network problems to minimize impact on the business and effectively working with Global IT Associates.
    • Analyze and troubleshoot network issues to resolve outages or interruptions promptly and minimize the impact on the company and its respective business units.
    • Conducts root-cause analysis by identifying a source for network connectivity issues and delivering solutions that minimize future symptoms or related problems.
    • Participates in global on-call rotation as required.
  2. Identifies avenues for continuous improvement for services within the scope of responsibility, including new approaches and processes that would contribute to improvements within the department and to business growth/efficiency in the wider organization.
    • Ensure that existing networks maximize availability, reliability and ensure service interruptions are minimal, managed, and controlled.
    • Administer converged and secure networks to ensure network performance, capacity, scalability, and resiliency align with IT and business requirements.
    • Implements policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure network device integrity and security.
    • Provides guidance to other team members (junior and/or peers).

 

    • Envisions and introduces new capabilities to meet business standards.
    • Participate in planning short- and long-term voice technology and disaster recovery requirements.
    • Establish and maintain network monitoring systems and processes to alert on resource availability, network utilization, and threats to the global network infrastructure.
    • Participate in defining best practices for network project implementation, network resource utilization policies and procedures.
  1. Provides business consulting and technical support to all business areas globally.
  • Provides proficient level support for the Campus architecture LAN, WAN, WLAN, NextGen Firewall and voice networks.
  • Perform installations, upgrades or patching, and maintenance of the global LAN / WAN, NextGen Firewalls and Wireless infrastructure.
  • Contributes to maintaining team process documentation and updates to network topology.
  • Ensures that all network changes implementation is in full accordance with the change management and approved control procedures/standards.
  • Participate in security incident response, security vulnerability identification and resolution, and IT compliance-related issues.
  • Ensures all devices and systems connected or supported comply with Hollister Cybersecurity standards and policies or best practices.

 

Essential Functions of the Role**:

Work Experience Requirements

  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 5-8

 

Must-Have

  • Active CCNA (Routing and Switching)
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a network administration or engineering role or High School diploma with 8+ years of hands-on experience in a network administration or engineering role.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools
  • Solid understanding of best practices around change management and control
  • Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Team player who understands their role within the team and communicates with team members

Nice To Have

  • Experienced in the implementation, administration, and troubleshooting of routers and switches (preferably Cisco and Meraki), NextGen firewalls (preferably Fortinet), Remote Access VPN (preferably Cisco ASA), Loadbalancer (preferably Citrix ADC), etc.
  • Familiarity with Solarwinds
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python and/or bash)
  • Automation experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio

 

Education Requirements

Mus-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Active CCNA (Routing and Switching)

 

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Meraki switches, and access points.
  • Working knowledge of Fortinet firewall UTMs.
  • Working knowledge of Citrix ADC and Zscaler Internet Access
  • Working knowledge of Aruba wireless instant access points, virtual wireless controller, mobility controller
  • Mid-level engineering communication and interpersonal skills
